Will is putting together the East Cleveland Apprenticeship Fair in November. We hope for it to be held in Saltburn and have as many different sectors of industry and work available as possible. Will is holding the East Cleveland Apprenticeship Convention at Prior Pursglove College in Guisborough. The aim of which is to bring local businesses, training providers, local authority and schools together in order for all to understand what support is available from government and each other in the local area. There is a mass of talent in East Cleveland and there are excellent businesses working hard, we need to ensure that we can maximise this route for all young people in East Cleveland.
After a disappointing response from Middlesbrough Council to do with my call for a residents' parking scheme I am launching a campaing in Marton to pressure the Council into action. I am urging Guisborough residents to take advantage of revised planning guidance from the government and make sure planners know our feelings about the proposed wind farm off Wilton Lane. The new guidelines ensure that arguments for renewable energy do not automatically override environmental protections and the planning concerns of local communities.
